Tobacco Hopi is a ceremonial plant is native to the rainforest areas of North and South America. This strain in particular made its way to the American Southwest region and was cultivated for centuries by the Hopi Indian Tribe. The leaves are broad, dark green, and have a strong, pungent aroma. When used in ceremonies, they are said to bring strength, courage, and wisdom to those who partake.
Planting Instructions: Start seeds indoors in trays 6-8 weeks before last danger of frost to maximize growing season. Use fine starting mix packed lightly. Thoroughly soak soil and drain. Sprinkle 2-3 seeds on top, but do don’t cover. Mist lightly, cover tray loosely with clear plastic dome. In well-lit area mist daily, germinate in 7-14 days. Remove plastic, place in greenhouse. Thin and harden off (gradually expose to outdoors) seeds gradually. Plant 2 feet apart in full sun.
